I have no problem with people who drop their decency in order to flex some imagined muscles using hired vulnerable young men and poor widows. Showcasing a fake crowd of people as though they were some ardent followers is a culture which we have now so ridiculously embraced in this clime. Dont we now hire people to weep for the dead at burials? (Just why evil men have no qualms sowing their truckloads of evil in their lifetime. Just a few thousands of Naira and their children can hire a multitude to mourn their departure at their burials if no family or friends would let go the mans sins and do him the last honour of dropping at least a tear! And these days, hired mourners are even far more emotional and weep better than the bereaved, so why bother with some holier than thou family and friends anyway). Using and dumping is simply a conscienceless act of entering into a social contract with a weaker person and not meeting your own end of the deal. You had all the time to go to villages and schools to hire folks - impoverished youths, widows, poor men, desperate teens and students - to nail your publicity stunt. In the end, you had no such time to pay them off as agreed. You left them to languish. You left them in pains and regrets. You left mothers and girls in the streets at night. You were quick to mobilise, yet not as smart to learn the art of demobilisation. Worse, somebody now has the nerve to say the frustrated people who ran out of patience and ultimately became hostile were hoodlums. Amazing. Sad. Wicked! He who is not faithful in little WILL NEVER SHOW FAITHFULNESS IN MUCH.
