I have no where else to ask this question so Ill ask it here on Facebook in hopes of getting some good advice. What do you do when the primary care doctor youve been seeing for a number of years (Dr. Daly of Franklin Family Practice) ignores just about everything you say. The type of doctor who as youre trying to explain your concerns, symptoms and get answers is walking out the door as though hes too busy to take the time to talk to you. The type of doctor who no matter how sincerely you plead with him to help you he just seems not to care. I tell this guy about pain Im having and how it is having a huge negative impact on my life and he cant be bothered! He gives me referrals and meds but refuses to explain the root of the problem. A problem that I want to get fixed as its severely impacting the quality of my life on a daily, hourly and even minute by minute basis. Pain shooting down both legs, calf completely numb at times, daily headaches, pain in my lower back and arm with sporadic sharp pains all over my body. This stems from an injury that I had surgery on years ago that was recently aggravated when I was struck in the back. I cant sleep, cant play with my kids, have pain all day and night and this guy cant be bothered! I could NOT be more pissed off! Do I stick with him because he knows me and because its hard to get a new doc or do I end the relationship and try to find a new doctor that has the professional and ethical will to find out whats wrong with patients and the compassion to listen to their concerns and help them find relief? Sorry for the rant about a personal issue I would otherwise not share on Facebook but Im at my wits end!
