I have not done this in a while---and since we have a lot of new people on the page---here goes: For those who dont already know me, my name is Keith Golden--and I am proudly serving in the Air National Guard. I am a degreed Meteorologist with a B.S. degree and M.S. degree from Mississippi State University. I have been doing weather on the side in one form or another for over 30 years here in Central Al (mostly as a hobby until now). The purpose for my weather page was born as a way to notify people of life threatening severe weather situations on the front end, raise awareness, educate, and provide information afterwards in order to help people in times of need. For those of you that have been on here a while, we try (all the staff of the page) to put things out ahead of time so people can make decisions for their safety. I generally do not do daily forecasts---the TV guys have that all locked up. I generally stick to the major events that effect the masses---but will get anyone that asks a forecast at any time any where upon request. This site relays a lot of the National Weather Service products---graphics, watches/warnings in the effort to inform those of you that may not be tied to your home computer or tv. Life happens just like the weather!!! I do my own forecasts--with the help of the other staff members--and do not generally follow the daily weathercasts on tv. Most all that you get from me is from the NWS forecast discussions, model research, and a lot of studying. Do I get it right all the time---absolutely not. But we try as a public service to our friends and families to do the best we can all the time. We do not get paid for this in any way, no agendas, no hype! Please, use this page to ask questions on any level that you have. There are no dumb/stupid questions---so feel free to ask away. We do this around our regular jobs, so be patient at times for a response, but we will try and answer any questions you may have. It could be from times for an event to how much does a thunderstorm weigh (80 billion pounds on average just in case you were wondering). If you see a way we can improve--please let us know, and if you have any complaints or issues---please direct them squarely upon me. I hope that you do not need us, that the weather will always be nice and non-severe, but know that we will do our best to be here for you when it does get severe! Again, thank you for interest and support! K. Golden
