I have not ever been a Iggy Azalea fan. Shes a white girl from Australia who freely steals parts of black culture and struggle without acknowledging it, participating in it or investing resources back into it. She then adds what she has misappropriated to her act, claims it to be authentic and makes money off of it. Despite they lyrics that were handed to her and she recorded, first thing she is the most un-realest … that weve ever heard in music. But what makes me wonder more is T.I…. There has been much said online about Iggys response in this clip where she is asked to freestyle. Whats more interesting is T.I.s response. On a radio show he takes off his headphones, steps away from the mic, paces and then hides behind the host as his talent (note the scare quotes) is confronted with reality that she cannot handle. In the end does not handle the request to freestyle. She merely tells a story using lyrics to a song she has already recorded. I love music but it has to be authentic, at least a little.
