I have not had a good Facebook rant in a while so here goes... This one is for all my big business hating friends... All you CEO haters and McDonalds loathers, this is for you... I get the mail yesterday and my Columbia gas bill is in there. I am the type of guy that takes the bill and pays it and usually ignores all the extraneous bullshit they cram into the envelope. For some reason, yesterday was different... There was a little yellow sheet of paper that explained Columbia gas requested a rate increase from the PUC. First off, Natural Gas prices per MCF at the wellhead are still very low... The sheet does not explain WHY they requested the increase just that they did... Then is goes on to explain how the proposed increase will effect the final customer... So it breaks down like this... The poor bastard struggling to heat his/her house on a below poverty non living wage will see a modest 10.42 percent increase in his residential bill. Next the little better off ma and pa business owner struggling to stay in business next to the business black hole of Wal-Mart will only see a 7.62 percent increase in their commercial bill. Lastly the power sucking, natural gas guzzling industrial corporations will only see a 6.12 percent increase in their industrial bill... Way to kick the little guy in the nuts Columbia... Some people say my brain does not work like normal peoples, but shouldnt those percentages be the other way around?
