I have not heard the desperate knocking on the innkeepers door - TopicsExpress

I have not heard the desperate knocking on the innkeepers door that silent holy night But I have heard my savior knocking on the door of my foolish heart I have not washed the newborn babe and wrapped his little body in strips of cloth But I have been bathed by the Holy Spirit and wrapped in the regal garments of His grace I have not tasted the salty.tears Fliwing down the holy infants cheeks But i have tasted the sweetness of His presence in the mornings call to silence and solitude I have not felt the warmth of the heavenly light surrounding the tender child cradled in his mothers arms But I have felt the warmth of his embrace enfolding my lifelong journey of joy and pain. Loss and gain I have not kissed the tiny finger of of the hand of God sleeping in the cattle trough But I have been kissed on the forehead by Jesus in a season of doubt and lonliness I have not smelled the fragrant incense brought by kings to the King of kings But I have smelled the sweet savor of friendship in times of laughter and times of tears I have not lain down in a bed of straw to keep the Christ child warm But I have lain down next to the husband of my old age and found strength and comfort in his arms I have not sren the angels appearng in the starry sky singing glad tidings to the shephetfs
