I have not spoken about this issue since the death of His Excellency Michael Chilufya Sata. Well on 18th October 2014, President Michael Sata Summoned Then Vice President Dr Guy Scott, Dr Scott was suppose to Travel abroad for National duty on that Day and the President asked him not to go but instead go and have a meeting with him at State house, Dr Scott cancelled his trip and a minister was instead delegated a minister to represent him instead, Dr Scott had a meeting with the President at the Presidents Home Office at Nwazi house the official Residence of the president, among other things they talked about was the issue of development of course and the welfare of the People of Zambia, Dr Scott the meeting at The Presidents house for over 4 hours, after the meeting President Sata Told him that he would be going for medical Check up in london on the 20th of October, he told his review was due and he needed to see his doctors, president Sata asked Dr Scott if he wanted to Act as President in his absence, Dr Scott said “no Bwana, I wouldnt want that because It may bring unnecessary noise among other ministers as to why you have left me to act” Dr Scott responded. Sata then laughed and said okay brother I will inform you before go to LONDON. On the 20th of October President Sata was ready to Go to London for his check ups, before he left he again Called Guy Scott and asked him, Brother since you refused to act in my absence, who then do you think should act in My absence, Dr Scott then Suggested that Alexander Chikwanda or Edgar Lungu because they have acted before, President Sata then said no ba Alex Needs to rest, so maybe we try ba Lungu, Dr Scott Said yes Lungu is a better person then, he can act in your absence with no doubt, he is a good guy and sober minded too, President Sata then asked State house Staff to ask Mr Lungu to go to state house, He was informed that Mr Lungu was in angola on national duty, President Sata then said then let me appoint someone else then, Dr Scott then said to Sata no, why cant we just ask him to come back because you are in no hurry I guess, Mr Lung was then asked to come back, As usual, Lungu was afraid as to why he has been recalled back, when he arrived at state house he began to ask people present there why have I been called back, have I been fired, state house staff said they were not able to answer that question, he was then taken to Nwazi house and when he arrived Dr Scott had Just left, he mate President Sata at his home office and those who were Present at the Hand over of power ceremony were Former First Lady Christine Kaseba, Secretary to the cabinet, Special assistant to the President for Press & Public relations, service Chiefs among others, President Sata then signed all documents and asked Mr Lungu not to take advantage of this privilege, he also warned Mr Lungu not to chair any cabinet meetings, but instead just be a ceremonial acting President. After this was done President Sata called Dr Scott and asked him to be at the airport without fail, Dr Scott then lead other ministers, party officials who were at the airport to see the president off including Edgar Lungu, he then Left for the UK and Edgar Lungu remind President, President Sata arrived in london on the 21st of october and after he had settled he called Dr Scott and informed him that he had arrived safely, Dr Scott was the only person President Sata called through out his stay in london, never at any point did he call the then acting President edgar Lungu, President Sata asked Dr Scott to watch everything closely and give him daily updates from time to time. On 22nd of october Edgar Lungu held a mini party at his house, he invited some cabinet ministers and began to say he is president again as usual beer drinking was what was at the top most and he was telling people that he was anointed by president sata to succeed him. This is a very long story but I will cut it short it may bore you , on 28th october in the early hours of that day, president Sata called Dr Guy Scott and told him he would be returning Home in two days time and must inform others too, Dr Scott was happy to here this news, they spoke on phone and joke about a lot of issues, after wards Dr Scott also told President Sata that Lungu was celebrating that He had been left to act as President, President Sata then Laughed and sAid dont worry he will actually never even succeed me , he cant win the presidency on his on, he needs more to be there and needs to mature also. Later that day Dr Scott informed other that President Sata was going to return home in the next two days.. But unfortunately President Sata didnt manage to get back home, the lord said to him that you have ran your race, you have kept the faith and you have fought a good fight enough is enough come home my son, and the President answered that call and went to be with the Lord.. :( In Conclusion and my point in total is that President Sata never anointed anybody, he didnt want to die also, he wanted to complete his term and also hopefully be re elected for another 5 year term, he only appointed Edgar like many others because Lungu was not a threat to his position as President, he needed to mature more and was still a baby like he put it himself. Edgar Lungu, Harry Kalaba and others must stop lying to the people during campaigns that Edgar was anointed and thats why a plane was sent to go to angola and return him back home, the president was ready to leave anyone else as Acting President , he didnt refuse to go if lungu didnt come, his health was actually more important than waiting for Lungu But Dr Scott asked him to hold on. Edgar Lungu is not the only one who was asked to come back home because the President Wanted to see him before he left, many people were asked before to Return back home because the President wanted them and planes were sent for them, these are GBM, Alexander Chikwanda, Wynter Kabimba, Guy Scott, Emmauel Chenda, also Choppers and Planes were sent to One George Chellah when he was wanted by the President and was out of Town or country for other duties, so Lungu must not feel special or anointed..
