I have noticed with more people running there has been an alarming increase in major health issues. My hypothesis is that a majority of people keep their old eating habits. Problem is the high amount of training (added stress to the body) for a marathon or triathlon will increase free radicals. Which will cause damage to cells. Eat foods that contain antioxidants: dark chocolate, berries, red bell peppers, cayenne, fennel, ginger, cinnamon, linseed, dark greens, kiwi, lemon.. All day long! Heat and light kill nutrients. Imagine Stress as a high heat source.
