I have now sent a letter to the Treasurer Ministers in opposition - TopicsExpress

I have now sent a letter to the Treasurer Ministers in opposition to the request from the RHA/FTA for Government funding to train more Drivers. More Funding is not the answer to a looming Drivers Shortage. By receiving funding for Driver Training will only attract the wrong sort of Drivers into our Profession, Those looking at a last resort as the training is free or partly paid for is not the best way to get good highly skilled HGV Drivers. The answer is to sort out the issues that face Drivers in the UK, make the job attractive, respect the workforce, talk to us and listen to us and only then will the Industry attract new blood. The DCPC is one issue only and needs an immediate review, but there are many other issues and problems need to be resolved before this career is seen as one to attract young blood into it. Communication is the only way forward. TALK to DRIVERS, listen and act on what we have to say. Or the future looks very bleak for those Employers looking to expand and get more drivers to move their goods in the future. I am ready, willing and able to talk to anyone willing to listen, truckersworld@outlook
