I have often heard people say that the church only wants our money! Ive also had people ask me why we put money in the offering plate? Why, when your family struggles to make ends meet do you still give your money away? Why do we give our offerings to god? Heres an interesting scripture for the answer: Mark 12:41-44 41 And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. 42 And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny.[a] 43 And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. 44 For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” Give until it hurts and you will be rewarded! We must plant our seeds if we want them to harvest. Anyone with gardening experience knows that planting seeds arent enough. The soil must be perfect, the conditions have to be favorable, their must be adequate light, soil type, nutrients, and water! Friends our God has the light, nutrients, and perfect conditions today and everyday! So we plant our seeds of faith through tithe offerings. One of my favorite pastor Rod Parsley said one time these words: My friends there will come a day when all you have financially will be right in your pockets. Reach into your pockets and at that moment I assure you that everything you have will be exactly what youve given to God the father. The day I heard him preach those words, I reached into my pocket, checked my bank account status, and he was right! All I had to my name was exactly what I had given God! This was the day I discovered why we tithe. From then forward I started giving beyond my means, and his blessings have overflowed in my life! Thank you Jesus for your blessings and thanks for keeping your promise that we will be rewarded for our kindness. We love you Jesus :)
