I have one of those TECH questions!!! (add in doom sound effects here) Im now a Nikon shooter and their D and G lenses are giving me a headache. All my current lenses are Ds (which I know are the older style). Ive just got the 105mm Macro G lens. (to replace my Canon 100 macro lens) I shoot either in manual or aperture priority, but this lens is all over the place with its Aperture setting. Okay I understand the G lenses dont have an aperture ring and so Aperture is set via the camera. But does this mean I cannot manually control the Aperture with a G lens? The 105mm will not let me drop down into 2.8. Its automatically increasing the Aperture even when I try and set it into AP or M! Is this right?
