I have one suggestion to make to help police officers reduce the number, of unnecessary shootings. Have the dispatcher patch through the call right to the squad car(1-ADAM-12)..to prevent any misunderstandings, etc so the officer can ask pertinent questions(without some ditz fouling the communication up); Caller: Suspect is waving a gun around, no ones around, hes just a kid, waving this gun, looks to be daydreaming, etc. Officer: Does it look real? Or a Toy? Is he threatening anyone? Caller: Well, no..uhh, ugh...I think you could come in slow, quiet and talk to him, it may be just a BB gun. Officer: OK--were about a minute out..uhh well keep our distance, check him out--you keep away too, thanks. In the Dayton Wal-Mart Killing..the 911 caller caused heightened fear in the officers en-route--by exaggerating the scenario--situation--making it seem like he was an active shooter spraying the entire store--mass casualties. IN this latest Cleveland tragedy--a 12 yr old boy is playing around outside with a BB Fake gun, why I dont know? If your the guardian or parent tell the kid to stay in the house...dont let him go out and scare the crap outta people. BUT--those cops could have shown up slowly, from a distance--asked him over the P.A.: Hey kid whats up? Whattya got there Is that real? Is it a BB gun? Why dont you throw that away from you on the ground, you lay down, arms outstretched...real slowly...were going to approach you--so we can talk!!! So we can listen to what you say!! For Chrissakes!!!??? GD Gestapo Bullshit has got to end!! We Must demand it as a people!! He was not killing people, holding hostages, the dumbass who called 911 calmly walked away after sitting there watching this child play with his Toy gun. Thats another thing--they should not be allowed to make toys that look so real--no, end that BS too
