I have questions about this, even though it sounds good in theory...., like why cant people with disabilities just be ALLOWED to save money on their own IF they can actually scrape it up? Why does it have to be in an ABLE account and who oversees and benefits from that? Are they planning on issuing an ABLE Debit Card when people want to use their own or their dependents money for something, so that banks can make even money off of those with disabilities? Why would people want to lock money into an account where they are told what it can be spent on and when? What happens if there is a crisis unrelated to the disability and someone cannot access these funds because the emergency doest meet criteria? Why are most of the acceptable expenses listed things you have to pay for regularly (housing, insurance premiums, medical related bills, and wtf is up with this part?? - (1) In general.--The Secretary of the Treasury shall report annually to Congress on the usage of ABLE accounts under section 529(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. (2) Contents of report.--Any report under paragraph (1) may include-- ........ (E) the amounts repaid from such accounts to State Medicaid programs established under title XIX of the Social Security Act. Heres a link to the actual Act. Read it yourself and see what you think -https://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/647/text
