I have reached a milestone...I am exactly half-way thru the radiation treatment and I am feeling like I just got over a major hurdle. The sleeplessness has evened out...for a week now, I have been on a bedtime regimen of tylenol PM, Melatonin 5mg, and an herbal stress relief tab containing passion flower, catnip herb, chamomile, lavender, hops, myrrh, spearment and valarian root. The hot flashes are still bothersome, but once they pass, I slip right back to sleep. My doctor says 2 more weeks of the same dose of radiation (she tells me these next 2 weeks are usually the hardest) and then the last week will be just radiating/pinpointing the areas where the cancer was found. She is beginning me on the hormone therapy immediately after radiation is done...although she has prescribed another medication to counter the hot flashes, which she wants me to begin next week. $140.00 for this medication! But thankfully, the funds that have come in will cover this expense. I am feeling good! I am feeling positive! My doctor says I can say it right now, I am CANCER FREE!
