I have read comments twice this week about people saying they dont support a rescue because they dont pull from shelters, they save dogs off the streets and take dogs from people that dont want them. Is that not admirable? Should they wait and let the dogs go to a shelter and sit there for a week then hope they can get them out. They still need to feed them vet them and take care of them until they find a forever home. And this thing about rescues being legitimate when they get thier 501c3. In my opinion which does not mean much what the rescue does for the animals determines if they are legitimate not a tax id number I pledge and donate to any rescue that I feel is a good one 501c3 or not I have even donated to independant rescue people that I trust. Last year I was pulled into a thread and asked to save a pittie and I told everyone that I would adopt the dog and I had some one that was going to give me kennel space and I was going to take her to training classes and I would find her a good family but I did not have the money at the time to get her out and feed her and the people that knew me all pledged for the adoption fee spay fee and food. I was not a Legitimate rescue but they knew I was good to my word but she died in the shelter because we as a group could not find a LEGITIMATE rescue that would help pull her until it was to late. Thats my rant about something I have been thinking about all week sorry
