I have read multiple post about school being in or out today. Heres my take, schools should be in session unless its too dangerous to drive regardless of the temperature. Many people fail to see that schools are the only safe place, warm place, some kids only meal, and caring support system they have access too. I am just as guilty as the person next to me wanting my wife home for a free day to play with the kids but when you look at the larger picture theres a group that needs my wife more than I do for 8 hours a day than me just being selfish. All school districts elementary to HS have kids who need some sort of assistance, you just never know who they are or you do. I applaud the districts that kept their kids in school today. As parent we have the choice if its to dangerous for our children, keep them home, drive them to school, have them wait in your car at the bus stop, or leave them with a sitter. However, that choice is limited to all students and parents once schools close their doors.
