I have read status updates with people asking for all this Robin Williams posting to stop. I have to say that it irritates me. I think for many that there is a message behind the sharing. Yes, it was an actor. More importantly, he suffered from mental illness. Mental illness is nothing to laugh at. I, myself, lost someone very close to me by asphyxiation. Yes, everyone dies. I get that. Have you ever seen someone that hung themself? I have. Its not pretty. I actually ran outside and threw up all over the sidewalk. Have you ever felt so depressed that you wanted to end your own life? I have. It was a struggle every single day just to get out of bed. I did it though. Put a fake smile on, got dressed, went to work and every chance I had Id go into the bathroom or to my car and cry. I guess what Im trying to say is please think before you post arrogant and ignorant statuses. Mental illness is very real and very serious! More people lose their lives to suicide than to homicide every year. Remember, you dont know what that other person may be going through...what demons theyre facing. Be kind, smile at someone, show a small gesture of love for in fact you may be saving someones life that day! ❤️
