I have received a message requesting that I post photos of the disasters in J&K as punishments by Lord Shiva for turning temples into tourist destinations. I would like to be clear and sensible on the following. 1. Natural disasters all have forensic evidence presenting that the weather is a natural occuring system that follows the laws of physics, and has no divine intervention whatoever involved. 2. Different areas have different geographic features and changes in time that makes them more susceptible to such situations. 3. We are looking at the timeline of disasters in a very microscopic level. If we see the larger picture, we will understand the susceptibility and possible frequency. We should stop using disasters as a way to scare people into thinking that God punishes such things. Remember that Lord Shiva does not punish the non-believers, or the non worshippers, or anything to that extent. What we witness is humanity going through their personal relationship with the laws of nature. Shiva wont interfere with your own personal Karma, you create or destroy your own destiny through the effects of your actions. Under the law of nature, every action has its own corresponding reaction, which is given based on how you treat others and society. In such an example of practical Karma. A group of people destroy nature in their area to make way for some progress, but also fail to establish sustainability and foresee flaws on their design. Once built, they suddenly (or sometimes, in a later time) experience the wrath of nature and the design they have has caused their own demise. Is it Shivas fault or the fault of the people for designing with the lack of knowledge on the history and geographic background of the place? This is similar to people living in Tornado Alley in USA, or near volcanoes and similar areas all over the world. There are geographic risks which shows its own timeline and fidelity to following time in the larger scale of things.
