I have received many inquiries about teaching elementary art - TopicsExpress

I have received many inquiries about teaching elementary art education during the past few weeks as Brick Schools transition to full time Kindergarten and as former student teachers and friends acquire primary level teaching positions. I no longer teach at this level but value early art education as necessary and the most exciting! The "little ones" truly are the most enthusiastic, creative and inspired learners. Of course there is a wealth of ideas for the educator online. Every major art supplier includes a list of lesson plan ideas on their site. Check out Blick, Sax, Nasco, Crayola among them. Also Kinderart, The Incredible Art Department, Getty, The National Gallery, The Met and tons of other sites offer credible and engaging lessons and information. I will post a few other new and relevant websites that will make the start of your academic year, less stressful, more productive and genuinely inspired. Here are two other comprehensive and reputable resources: pinterest/stizneff/art-teacher/ and for the elementary educator deepspacesparkle/2013/04/22/teaching-the-masters-art-lesson-round-up/ I will be leaving my high school teaching position on February 1st to complete an art residency and pursue my own art practice. There are many art educators, at every level, who practice what we teach. It has been a great privilege. If you have specific inquiries, please message me. Best wishes as we begin a new school year!
