I have received several inbox messages in the last several hours asking me how I can support the movie, Gods Not Dead while appearing through other posts to be a very bad Christian. The short answer is that I do not directly support the movie, but I support the friends that wish to see it. Several of my friends wish to see this movie brought to our town, and it seems selfish and stupid to watch them turn their gears in opposite directions. I am not a Christian, and I ask you to please show me the posts in which I have purported to be, so that I may act accordingly. If, as my friend, you were unaware of my religious choices and choose not to continue our friendship, you know where the door is. But know, also, that I am the same person I have always been- the one who opens her home to friends in need, who will listen and guide and support you, and who cried that time she ran over a bunny. I support your choice to believe in God. My father-in-law is a church elder, and when with him, we follow his beliefs. We say grace before eating, and the children are expected to show respect and stay quiet until this is finished. I also support gay marriage, though I am not gay. Several of my friends are gay, so if you have a problem with them then you have a problem with me. Should I be wrong in my life choices, your God will judge me accordingly when my time comes. I accept this as well. Now to close as the snarky asshole I am, let me ask you a question- What will your own children think about the God you ask them to believe in, on their faith, when they realize several years in the future that the ridiculous Elf on the Shelf was an elaborate parental ruse they believed in, using the same faith? Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.
