I have received too many inbox messages from folks asking me why I dont like George Weah. Let me clear the air. I love George Weah. I love George Weah for the simple fact that he gave hope to the young visionaries of Liberia. He has proved to the world, that no matter your educational background, your economical background, you can succeed if you believe. I am fully aware that George Weah success in soccer was not magic, it took hard work and discipline to make it to the level he did. Im a writer and if Im given the opportunity to write George Weahs life story, that will be a great honor. With that been said, just because Im holding the man up to a higher standard, doesnt mean I dont like him. George Weah is a role model for all our young kids, I have to hold him to a higher standard for their sake. George Weah image comes off as a gronna boy, instead of the visionary that he is. Whats wrong with me telling someone I admire and respect to step up his game and fix his image? On a positive note, Im glad to see that he is stepping into the public and speaking more often. I wish he would step out in boldness and do this debate that he refusing to do. One love.
