I have recently had the privilege of visiting the grave of Corporal Sidney Telford QX1181 of Allora in Papua New Guinea. Sidney was wounded and later died of wounds at Gona PNG during the final stages of the Kokoda Campaign December 1942. Sidney served with the 2/9th AIF initially in the Middle East and then at the successful defence of Milne Bay PNG. He was laid to rest at the Bomana War cemetery outside Port Moresby. Lest We Forget.
