I have registered myself for EKG/Cardiac Technician courses with Valley Medical Institute beginning in February. As I previously mentioned, I had made a career change and there are opportunities for me to move forward, grow and better my professional career! Upon completion I will gradually work to accomplish a position with my current employer and become a Certified Cardiac Technician, analyzing Holter readings and understanding the different rhythms of the heart. I will learn to perform diagnostic tests to access the heart rhythm and rate in patients. This is an integral part of the management of patients with heart disease. The EKG Technician will also maintain and process data reports. The course will prepare me with the theory, academics and clinical education necessary to function as a technician. Describe ECG characteristics of a sinus rhythm, causes, signs, symptoms and emergency management of bradycardia, sinus arrhythmia ,tachycardia, sinoatrial block and sinus arrest to name a few. I look forward to this educational journey as I prepare to take a step in a new direction!
