I have said almost nothing about Ferguson because so many stupid - TopicsExpress

I have said almost nothing about Ferguson because so many stupid things were being said by so many people. My 2 cents is that nobody really knows what happened in those critical seconds but we do know that Michael Brown was NOT a gentle giant he was a thug. Did he deserve to be shot 6 times? I have my doubts but reading the grand jury reports I think they followed the law and returned the only result they could. NOW with that said, the gentleman in NY (Eric Garner) as far as I am concerned was murdered by police. He was guilty of the crime of selling untaxed cigarettes (previously but not proven on the day of this incident) and after about 5 of them tackled him and he can be clearly heard saying I cant breath several times, they held him until he was dead. This SHOULD be reason for protest, not so for Micheal Brown. Another equally horrific example of the shooting of an unarmed black man (who was trying to follow the officers request for his license) which happened in South Carolina but luckily he lived and we have clear video evidence which resulted in the officers dismissal and arrest. I find it interesting that we seem to have better quality control in our police here in The South than Missouri or NY. My point here is that there obviously IS reason to distrust the police by many but to try to make Michael Brown that symbol just taints the movement and erodes the majority of support that could have been gathered across all racial lines but instead we see obvious lies and the usual agitators coming out of the woodwork. It becomes support to those who will point to the protesters and believe that looting and burning to support a thug like Michael Brown is normal behavior, truth be damned and think that there is nothing that needs to be done. https://youtube/watch?v=LaaeXIg9kSk
