I have said it before and I will say it again...if you cannot afford it you have NO business, or right, adopting a dog. One person in particular surrendered her dog to Sophias Grace Foundation over the summer. Of course the dog was not neutered and never vetted while in her care, so we took care of him and he was adopted by a wonderful family. Afterwards she begged to have him back (uh, I dont think so). She has since gotten her hands on ANOTHER dachshund who was recently hit by a car and has a crushed hip, and you guessed it, she cannot afford the surgery. Ignorant, selfish people disgust me and my heart breaks for this poor dog. Once again, DO NOT apply to SGF unless you can afford to care for the dog over its LIFETIME. End of rant :(
