I have said these words over and over....but it seems like this - TopicsExpress

I have said these words over and over....but it seems like this might be the last time I get to say them. A bit over 2.5 years ago I began coming to Brevard County to begin a new life. Bit by bit, I met new people, but I didnt feel like I belonged. Until the day I walked into Zipperz Bar, and then I was Home. I always thought I knew what family was. I was lucky growing up and coming out, my blood family didnt turn their back on me...but we were just family. You know, blood ties. After that first day coming into Zipperz, I met my true Family. Friendship, Unconditional Love, Acceptance, and understanding; no matter what. I met James Michael and Glenn Ferron and Roger Brant - and from the beginning I FELT welcome. Many people say it, but at Zipperz you felt it. I would come with my friend Todd Teague, and we would play pool, hang out, or watch a show....just be, and that was cool. Then one Sunday night, I came to bingo. I didnt expect much, but to have a good time. I was wrong. I was so surprised to meet Ms. Erikka Caine , the entertainer of the night, our hostess for Bingo Night at Zipperz. Few people know but I actually met Edwin Aquila at a birthday party a few months before, we were friendly but we didnt click. But that night I realized I had been in the dark all my life, and suddenly there was a star. We became near instant friends, and I began to look forward to Sundays, to be at Bingo with Erikka Caine. I even blocked my work calendar so nothing would interfere with my being there. After just a few short weeks I began to realize that Edwin/Erikka meant more to me than just a friend, friends tend to come and go in your life, but I knew that this one was going to be in my life forever. This was what family was all about. Thru Bingo and Erikka I met a group of people that I will cherish all my life. Heide Bowman and Richard Wendt, Tammy Jalette and Daniel, Michael Kish, Shawn Grover, Billyray Morton, JC Bourne, Steven and Joey, DJ Woofy, Jerzy, Airick Lee Caruso, JohnSharon Zavasky (cant ever tell them apart) There are many more, and I dont mean to slight anyone, but this will be a run on story if I dont cut to the chase. These people werent just there to play bingo, they were there to share the evening with people they actually cared about. If you didnt show up, they wanted to know if you were ok. When you were ill, they actually checked in on you. During its life, I pitched in where-ever I could, working on the website, the facebook page, supplying music, transportation for people and Stuff; helping setup/breakdown bingo, helping forge contacts with others in the community; wherever I could. In August I had the most amazing day of my life; my birthday. My sibling Erikka Caine along with Todd Teague arranged the most amazing night of my life. I remember some of it, but thanks to cellphone video and pictures I have memories for a lifetime. The hardest thing to remember, for me, is that just because the doors are locked, and the lights are off; nothing else has changed. The people I have met, and the people I care about, are still there... in my memories, in my heart...and lol, on my facebook. We will stay in touch, and remain family/Friends....not for a day, not for a season...but for a lifetime. As we were all saying our goodbyes Sunday night... The lyrics to one of my FAVORITE songs came to mind. So here is my Share for the Day - and I think it says it all. And Billy Ray Morton - you CAN call me Robbie - Cause thats my family name, and as crazy as you are, your still family to me. https://youtube/watch?v=bvK1F6bUrzU
