I have said to my wife for a while now that things like bacon are cheaper and often (to me) better quality than in Tesco. Watching rip of Britain today , they said that Tesco express had higher prices than main stores when questioned Tesco said that it was due to higher costs involved. Something I did not know came out in the programme that one stop is owned by Tesco and the prices in there were often cheaper not only than Tesco express but even the main shops. You do the maths ? I think maybe we should become old fashioned and do what shopping we can locally in regards to bread eggs bacon etc. even booze is cheaper despite large stores mass buying. I think the major stores work on the hypnotised hypothesis(mine) that people are habitual and just want to get round the shops as fast as possible, rarely check the prices and just look, see, want and pick up, also paying by cards as disassociated people somewhat from the money they are paying out as opposed to handing 20 and 10 ten pound notes over in a bundle!
