I have seen Boycott Thanksgiving Retail stuff going around on facebook...theres even a page devoted to it. My family works in retail, and were OK with them working that day. The whole thing about put yourself in the employees shoes...OK, how about hospital employees, restaurant employees, Tom Thumb employees, hotel employees, call center employees, football stadium employees, network TV employees, grocery store employees, movie theater employees, ant the list goes on. Theyre all open that day...its the biggest day of the year for movie theaters. Why havent we boycotted Marriott and Hilton before? I honestly dont understand why the retail thing is such a hot button for everybody. Why do people feel like shopping is such a mortal sin and shouldnt be done on Thanksgiving? Honestly, it sounds fun to kick off the holiday season with the whole family at the mall with a Cinnabon and a Starbucks...and a 55 TV from Sears ;) Shopping at 6 pm on Thursday sounds a lot more fun and a whole lot safer than leaving the house with a triptofan hangover at midnight. Brought to you by Sears and Walmart ;)
