I have seen a number of posts about this, mostly jokingly referencing the inevitable conclusion of the series by Brandon Sanderson, but more often than not complaining that George RR Martin is just out for money by stretching the series and not releasing the books in a timely manner. I just dont understand that notion. Wouldnt he make infinitely more money by just releasing smaller, less polished books every year? He could just release a 300 page Arya novel, and then a 400 page novel about one of the dire wolves and the books would sell like dragonfire. The fact is, the guy already has more money than he likely knows what to do with. Isnt it just possible that he loves this world -- even more than you do -- and is caught between the rock of artistic integrity and expression and the hard place of fan service? I get as frustrated as the next person waiting to read the sixth book but I also want him to have the room and the time to tell his story. Of course, once the TV show has outpaced the books I may well be humming another tune. insidetv.ew/2014/06/03/george-r-r-martin-ice-and-fire-publishing-plan-game-of-thrones/
