I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. - Isaiah 57:18 God gives today solace to the troubled hearted. We have troubles, crisis, suffering in this world and without facing it we cannot reach the kingdom of God. Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.(Acts 14:22). Apostle Paul experiences two types of comforts amidst his pains and suffering. One is the comfort that comes from the Lord. The second is Paul is being used by God to comfort the others who are under the grips of the trials and tribulations. Because God comforted him in his sufferings Paul says his sufferings were easy and light to endure. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;(2Cor 4:17). In your trials and tribulations God gives you comforts and solace so that your problems become light to bear. David encountered by his enemies and also by his own house holds many crises; David says in all his problems God gave him the strength to endure it. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.(Ps 94:19). Because God comforted him, David says it is good for him to under go sufferings. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.(Ps 119:71). Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.(Ps 119:67). Just like David and Paul can you comment about your sufferings like that? In that sufferings God gave them comfort, the word of God gave them peace. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.(Ps 119:49-50). During the period of your sufferings have you ever waited upon God for his word? Because you did not wait for the word of God, you were confused with fear and anguish. There is no peace, but only restlessness in your life. Beloved, atleast now learnt to wait for the word of God. And the word of God will give you peace and make your sufferings bearable and light. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(Rom 15:4). But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.(1Cor 14:3). After Jesus has risen from the death, His disciples were surprised because his body was not there. They were astonished because they were not able to believe that Jesus was raised. Two of His disciples were going to the village called Emmaus. Then Jesus also walked along with them. But the disciples could not recognize Jesus because their eyes were Holden. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.(Lk 24:16). And they talked together of all these things which had happened. Jesus then explain the prophetic words about Him. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.(Lk 24:25-27). When Jesus revealed the prophetic word to them they found great change in them. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?(Lk 24:32). God gives you comfort through visions. God anointed Saul as king in those days. When Saul met Samuel he was deeply concerned about the lost donkey. In order to fulfill God’s plan in Saul’s life, God through the vision pacified Saul. And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy fathers house?(1Sam 9:20). Saul was much relieved and comforted and also understood the plan of God. So he went home with peace. Today I am anxious about my future, worried with anxiety and anguish. Beloved go to the presence of God and wait for His prophecy. God will defiantly prophecies to you and guide you according to His plans. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts(2Pet 1:19). Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.jonathen
