I have seen several news stories, like the one below, popping up on Facebook about a respiratory illness hitting the Midwest and putting a lot of children in the hospital. While this can be scary, their are steps that you can take to help prevent your child/family from becoming ill. -Wash hands often with soap and water. -Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. -Dont eat or drink after others, avoid using water fountains -Dont kiss or hug someone who is sick. (Moms we know we are going to hug and cuddle our sick kids, so oil up.) -Disinfect frequently, including door knobs, telephones, toys, shopping cart handles, etc. - Boost the Immune system Some good items to use for prevention and have on hand in case of illness: - Young Living Essential Oils - There are many with anti-infectious and anti-viral properties that would be wonderful to keep on hand, especially as we are entering into flu season as well. The Premium starter kit is the best foundation for getting started using essential oils and building your wellness cabinet. If you dont already have a Premium starter kit (which comes with a diffuser as well), then I would love to help you obtain one and get started with saving 24% as a wholesale member. You can learn more at simplyessentialmom or message Simply Essential Mom. If you already have a Premium starter kit, then I would highly recommend getting the Golden Touch 1 collection to have on hand as we enter the winter months, it contains seven wonderful and powerful blends. Thieves and R.C. are two that are at the top of my list to make sure our family is stocked up on. Thieves can be applied daily to the bottom of the feet to help benefit the immune system. R.C. is my go-to for anything respiratory. - Thieves Household cleaner can be mixed up in a spray bottle to spray down bedding, furniture, surfaces, and toys. For toys that can be submerged, make up a bucket with a capful of Thieves. You can also add it to your laundry or dishwasher, wash your fruits and veggies, and even clean your bathroom. This natural and safe concentrated cleaner can be used in place of most of the toxic cleaners you may already have in your home. -Thieves spray can be carried in a purse to disinfect shopping carts, changing tables, toilet surfaces, door knobs/handles, and even hands. We also use this as a throat spray when we have a sore throat or just want an added boost of protection. - Thieves waterless hand purifier can be kept with you in a pocket, purse, desk drawer or diaper bag to use after shaking hands, using the bathroom, or any other time you just need to disinfect your hands. - Thieves wipes work well to keep in a desk at the office, in the bathroom, car, or kitchen to quickly wipe down surfaces. These are also great for teachers to keep in classrooms to wipe down desk, door knobs, pencil sharpeners, and other commonly touched surfaces. - Diffuser (Young Living has several wonderful ones to choose from) Diffusing essential oils into the air at home, at the office, or even in a classroom is a great way help prevent the spread of germs. Some great oils to consider diffusing are Thieves, Purification, R.C., Mountain Savory, Exodus II, and Lemon. - Supplements like Young Livings Inner Defense capsules and Life 5 probiotic capsules. Prevention is key, so dont wait until someone you love becomes ill, start taking steps now to prevent illness from occurring. You can learn more at simplyessentialmom
