I have seen several posts stating this, but it cant be stated enough! Many of us are old hands at this and already know this- but every now and then a piece of memorabilia comes up, the price is way too high and its a cheap trinket you can buy new for considerably less! In front of my dads house is a large metal sign, faded, rusted and reads This farm uses quality John Deere equipment. Dad remembers seeing similar signs growing up, but I was with him when he bought it new in 1998. Ive seen posts with a cast John Deere seat, sometimes selling in the hundreds of dollars and obviously a fake, the deer is facing to your right, John Deere always had them facing to the left. These signs hang on my front porch, I bought the bottom 3 new for less than $20 each and you can still buy them new at that price. The top one I dont remember what I payed, but I place more value on it because it is a signed painting done by a local artist. All Im saying is be careful what you buy, if your not sure, ask. There are many of us that have been doing this a while, and a few here with dealership experience. With the tractors, a lot of the pricing depends on you, most of these memorabilia pieces are cut and dry and I hate to see someone pay double or triple for a piece of tin they can get new for a lot less at a trinket store
