I have seen the last days, the case of Eric, a pointer rescue dog - TopicsExpress

I have seen the last days, the case of Eric, a pointer rescue dog who was taken to a dog hotel/kenel for fostering and was was then put to sleep by the kennel owner, as he was assessed by the owner of the kennel that he was aggressive (snapped at people). I am not aware of politics or people behind this case..I do not really know who support the kennel owner nor am i a friend with the persons from the rescue organisation that are retaliating against the death of Eric. BUT i would like to ask one SIMPLE and HUMBLE question... If i take my dogs to a kennel and i leave off for a long trip, and i come back after (say) a month, only to find that instead of 5 dogs i am about to collect only 4 , given the fact that the hotel owner put one dog to sleep WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME IN ANY WAY..... WHAT do you think i would have done?? THIS IS THE ESSENCE HERE!!!!.... I DO NOT CARE IF THE DOG WAS AGGRESSIVE OR NOT! And there is NO point discussing about it.... the kennel owner judged (correct or not does not matter) that the dog was aggressive, while previous fosterer and rescue team support otherwise!!.... WHY ON EARTH WASNT THE DOG DELIVERED TO THE CARETAKER OR OWNER ???? WHY ON EARTH A DOG WAS PUT TO SLEEP without notifying FOREHAND the caretaker or owner to pick him up? So in answering the question above.... If i take my foster dogs and my own dogs to a kennel, because i am about to go to a trip, i DO NOT ACCEPT THE HOTEL OWNER JUDGING ON MY BEHALF AND PUTTING ANY DOG TO SLEEP.... END OF THE STORY!! THE PROFESSIONAL ATTITUTE OF A KENNEL OWNER IS TO CALL ME OR ANY EMERGENCY LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE OF MINE, AND DELIVER THE DOG, WITH A WRITTEN STATEMEN WITH HIS / HER ASSESSMENT.... THE WHOLE BOTTOM LINE IS - NOBODY has the right to put a dog to sleep, ESPECIALLY IF THAT DOG IS NOT THEIRS!!!!!!! IF THE DOG DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU, THEN DELIVER THE DOG BACK TO THE OWNER / CARETAKER, GIVE YOUR ASSESSMENT AND AVOID THE BURDEN OF KENNELING HIM.... YES YOU HAVE THIS RIGHT!! BUT NO RIGHT TO CAUSE DEATH to a dog its NOT yours!!!!! END OF THE STORY!!!!!
