I have seen this before on fb, and it was finally once too much. The differences here are notable, and easy to find. Marissa Alexander had multiple chances to leave, as a matter of fact, went to the garage to get the gun and returned to the inside of the home. That’s why the judge denied her “stand your ground” defense. mediatrackers.org/florida/2013/07/16/no-marissa-alexanders-conviction-was-not-a-reverse-trayvon-martin-case-in-florida CeCe McDonald’s case was in Minnesota, which doesn’t have a “stand your ground” law. Such a law, if it existed in Minnesota, would have protected her. Minnesota only has a castle doctrine that would have covered her in her home, but this was out in the street. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CeCe_McDonald chacha/question/does-the-state-of-minnesota-have-a-stand-your-ground-law-or-something-similar Zimmerman did not use “Stand your ground” as a defense, claiming simple self-defense as his head was being pounded into the ground at the time of the shot. Also, Zimmerman didn’t pursue Martin, he exited the truck only after Martin had run away and was out of sight, trying to get an idea of which direction Martin had headed to relay to the police. This is the pertinent part of the Zimmerman 911 call. Note that if Martin had run away, but was later involved in a fight with Zimmerman, he must have circled back. Kind of takes away the idea that Zimmerman “stalked” him. Zimmerman: No you go in straight through the entrance and then you make a left, uh, you go straight in, dont turn, and make a left. (expletive) hes running. Dispatcher: Hes running? Which way is he running? Ambient sounds are heard which may be Zimmerman unbuckling his seat belt and his vehicles open door chime sounding. The change in his voice and the sound of wind against his cell phone mic indicate that he has left his vehicle and is now walking. The dispatcher seems to pick up on these changes and sounds concerned when he later asks Zimmerman if he is following Martin. ^^^ Up to this point, Zimmerman was still in his vehicle. Martin is now running away from him. Zimmerman didnt get out of his truck until Martin ran away. Zimmerman: Down towards the other entrance to the neighborhood. Dispatcher: Which entrance is that that hes heading towards? Zimmerman: The back entrance…(expletive)(unclear) This section of the recording has been the subject of much speculation. Some suggest that Zimmerman has just made a racial slur, but the audio is not clear. Dispatcher: Are you following him? Zimmerman: Yeah. Dispatcher: Ok, we dont need you to do that. Zimmerman: Ok. Dispatcher: Alright sir what is your name? Zimmerman: George…He ran. ^^^ As in ran away. Zimmerman agrees that he doesnt need to follow. The rest of the call is Zimmerman making arrangements to meet the police and hanging up.
