I have sent this message to the editor of the Arnprior Chronicle-Guide, asking for a correction in next weeks paper. Just in case said correction is not made, I want to post my ask and clarification here: Hi John: I read the article titled Agreements deals Newsmaker of the Year by Derek Dunn, and wish to have a correction notice placed in next weeks issue. In the article, Derek writes: Candidates Heather Lang and Scott Brum followed suit. I take umbrage to this statement, which implies that I did not have a position during the campaign, only following suit after Brian, Mark and Tom came out with positions. Throughout my entire campaign, I was an avid proponent of the township renewing an agreement with the Town of Arnprior. Not only was I a signatory on the petition, but I also publicized my position in my campaign brochure (which incidentally I had prepared early in the summer) and on my Facebook election campaign page, and reiterated the need for an agreement in my opening statement at the all-candidates debate, which Derek attended. I am attaching my campaign brochure and my opening statement to this email. I would very much like a correction/retraction put in next weeks paper. I must say that I am not happy to see myself portrayed as a follower. I certainly hope that your paper and your papers reporters report more accurately in the future.
