I have some BIG news (see below)--oh, and all eight Samantha Moon novels, plus the Christmas Moon novella, are now .99 cents for the next 4 days! Many of you have read them, some of you havent. In case you are wondering, or have lost track, here is the series order: 1. Moon Dance 2. Vampire Moon 3. American Vampire 4. Moon Child 4.5 Christmas Moon 5. Vampire Dawn 6. Vampire Games 7. Moon Island 8. Moon River All books are available on all sites, but here are some links to the 8th book in the series, MOON RIVER: Moon River on Kindle: amazon/Moon-River-Vampire-Hire-ebook/dp/B00EI0QN2W/ Moon River on Nook: barnesandnoble/w/moon-river-jr-rain/1116424430?ean=2940148707929 (Kobo Readers, your site is having some publishing problems and I was only able to change books 1-4 to .99 cents.) And away we go! I do hope you enjoy them!! And please share with your friends! This is a GREAT time for a new readers to jump into the series! NOW ONTO THE BIG NEWS: VAMPIRE SUN (Vampire for Hire #9), which is technically the 10th book in the series (if you count the novella, Christmas Moon, and I do), will be the last Samantha Moon novel. Yes, you read that right. The next book will be her last. I like the idea of ending the series after 10 books. And, because I will be resolving most of the story threads, this will be a bigger book than the last few, and will need more time. So, the April release is out the window. Expect VAMPIRE SUN sometime in the summer. Yeah, Im going to miss Sam, too. Ive grown close to my fictional creation, to her and her family and friends. Im proud of what I have been able to accomplish in this series. (Did you know that Ive now sold over 1.5 millions copies of Samanthas tales? Wow.) This has been a wild 5 years of writing and publishing Sam Moon. At times her tales have been a massive challenge, at other times they have practically written themselves. This has not been an easy decision, and its one that I have thought about for a long time. But I want Samantha to go out on top and not overstay her welcome. Mostly, I want to give her the bow she deserves, a chance to say goodbye to you, in her own fashion. And, no. Im not retiring. There are still many tales to tell. I will continue writing primarily standalone mystery (not part of any series), although I expect to write a Jim Knighthorse novel every now and then. That guy still still cracks me up, and theres more to his story. Allison Lopez will sign off with her third book, THE WITCH AND THE HUNTSMAN. I had been wavering on whether or not to make her story a series or a trilogy, and I have finally decided on a trilogy. In April, instead of VAMPIRE SUN, I will release a standalone Samantha Moon short story, called Dark Side of the Moon. Yes, Sam might still show up in the occasional short story. And thats another point Id like to make: short stories. Over the coming years, I will begin releasing more standalone short stories, typically between 4000 - 10,000 words, or about 16 - 40 pages. I enjoy writing short stories greatly. They are wonderfully liberating and just darn fun. So, over the coming months and years, expect many standalone novels and short stories from yours truly. And, yeah, Sam will live on forever in my heart. I hope yours, too. Much love, J.R.
