I have some comments after the events of the #cottonbowl: Bears, we know where we need to improve our football next year: Defense, penalties, smart plays vs whats going on in the game. Just my take. Like my other family members of Bear Nation, I held my head high walking out of that stadium today. Lots of things could have gone better, but we in no way embarrassed ourselves by losing by 1 point (no matter what anyone else says - thats math). While a win would have solidified our ranking, we were at least an equal match for MSU. That cannot be said of TCU vs. Ole Miss. I have said for a long time that the CFB should be 8 players. This is why (MSU was #8). Playing a close game against a equal match means a lot more than a blowout against an overrated opponent (See: WVU vs. TCU). TCU: while you will brag about beating a worse team in Ole Miss than what we faced today (phenomenal game, btw), you have no right to assume youd have done better against MSU. They played well and did not give up - I can tell you first hand, I was there. Ole Miss, from what I saw, did not play a fully invested 60 minutes. #anygivenday I will stand behind you as a member of the Big XII however, and admit that you were probably the best team from our conference this year. Thats a hard pill to swallow, but its PROBABLY true. Congrats to you. Well see you on the field next year. What I took away from today: I was walking to the parking lot with my dad and there were two groups of several people ahead of me, one Baylor and one MSU. They were talking with each other and laughing. They did not know each other before today. I overheard an MSU fan say Boy, I have to hand it to you guys, you Baylor fans are pretty outstanding, so polite and kind, Ive never experienced that. This was a fantastic experience. Thanks for making our trip so great. THAT IS BAYLOR NATION. Win or lose. That is what I hear about virtually every fan experience with Baylor fans - and that is our legacy. And it is more important to me than us winning. So, I know that all of you that bleed green and gold will go and have your time tonight. Youll think about the loss and get nostalgic, heartbroken, misty-eyed, or perhaps even shed a few tears. Ill remind you that we will not build our legacy by tearing others down or trash talking. So dont acknowledge those overanxious TCU fans. We know what we stand for, what we have built, and are building. Im proud to be a Baylor Bear, one of the elite in our conference, and a fierce, yet humble competitor on and off the field. Congrats to our boys on their fantastic season. #sicem
