I have some feelings on this and theyre somewhat revolutionary -- I dont care if the kid is wearing a costume or is a head above the others or is a teen who is having trouble letting go of childhood or an adorable homemade costumed beloved neighbor child or one who comes on rollerblades to make the most of his time or one who imports into my neighborhood - I have a treat for them because its Halloween and if you dont want to participate and be nice, then turn off your lights and go inside. Ill be in the front yard, with my husband, passing out giant Pixie Stix with a back up of small bags of pretzels for anyone who comes up to us. Well be sitting out, with a yard full of custom carved pumpkins and smiling and I might have a glass of wine in my hand as I secretly play the princess game where I get to drink every time a princess trick or treats. I dont care where youre from -- I promise to smile, and Ill treasure your smile, your sweet face, your request and your thank yous. Ill enjoy an evening where I get to sit out and do something fun and delightful for someone else and count my blessings that I can do it. Happy Haunting My Boo-tiful friends.
