I have some observation on the USA policy on the region and the Middle East in general. The hesitant and shaky stand of the American policy toward the Arab spring will present itself as a weakness and lack of adaption that the US administration is suffering from. US historically have presented itself as a guardian of the democratic values. The people on the Middle East look suspiciously at the United States because of many reasons which are not the scope of message. The United States always alienated itself and its interests in region from the common interests of the ordinary people. People in the Middle East will eventually inherit states control and will establish their foreign and economic policies with the countries that will support them now. The United States always bet on the interest of the ruling elite in this region who have strong relations and ties with the United States in one way or another. Now it is the time to play it clean and get in touch with reality, we should align our national interest with those of the ordinary people’s interests. This will help USA to influence political awareness in these countries. This approach could also be a golden opportunity to market our political and economic securities through populist regimes. This is a new chapter in the Middle East and we do need to adapt quickly to changes on the ground. Please denounce the military coup in Egypt and start reaching a hand to those freely elected in the region. The intelligence and old gangs ways of oppressing the people will not work now and even if it does it will have a temporary effect and will not serve the long term goals of the USA.
