I have some really smart fb friends and some not so smart ones too. This forum creates an entirely other level of consciousness, one where measure is limited to the typed word and shared meme. In past lives I have friended on the basis of a feeling, the vibe you get with some folks, the look in their eye or a display of character. On here and I really hate to quote the BGs but, its only words, but I will say, those words contribute to a forming ideology . My political views have evolved tremendously, I have learned a lot. I am often repelled by the imposed voyeurism (I often look away and just keep scrolling) that many of us find necessary to evoke but am also touched by how much we love our children. I love mine too. It opens me to this vulnerability, I realize how incredibly fragile we are and like my expanding political perspectives, I just cant forget what Im learning. Of course Im grateful for my many blessings but there is this vague and haunting peril that requires an increased vigilance. As these forums continue to dominate our conscious lives, as our perspectives continue to broaden, I wonder if their comes an equal dose of personal paranoia. I can guarantee, we aint disconnecting. I just hope the creep of the enlightened wisdom I refer to is greater than the fearful desperation that could find us continuing to arm ourselves in futile self defensive posture. Guns cant hold off the reality of seeing unless we turn them on ourselves.
