I have some very big news to share. As many of you know, poor health has forced me to cut way down on touring and performing, and I have been supported for the last year and a half by a modest commission to compose new material. But after a while, it became obvious that I would never as a guitarist be able to get this mass of material up to performing level (especially as I keep writing more new tunes). We are talking about maybe 40 difficult arrangements, many of which feature unusual harmonic progressions, and which should include improvisation. So, in talking things over with my patron, he decided to back a recording project that will feature other guitarists playing the tunes. Hopefully I can get down to Italy (where the recording will take place) at some point next year, and participate myself. Other guitarists who have agreed to participate are Davide Mastrangelo, Michele Calgaro, Steve Hicks, and Woody Mann. (One other performer may be added, but we havent heard back yet) Im deeply honored to have musicians of this caliber on board to interpret my compositions. Thanks a million, guys!
