I have some very stressful things going on in life right now. Trying to keep my eyes on Jesus and my attitude in check. The night of July 3rd I was praying that God would please speak to me in my dreams. He does that pretty often. That night this is what I dreamed: My Mammaw Ginna (who recently passed away) came and picked me up in her old tank of a car. She can barely see over the steering wheel and I dont have any idea how she could reach the pedals :) We were driving through Shady Grove--cracking jokes---making fun of ourselves and others as we usually did. Her favorite saying came up This too shall pass. We turned down a street and it seemed to get narrower and narrower and it was also getting darker and darker. Cars were parked on either side of the street making it hard to maneuver the tank around them. It eventually went totally dark---like a cave. But flashes of light would come every few seconds and last for only a second. Just long enough to see how to avoid the next obstacle. Next scene: we were approaching a large glass elevator---the kind you see in fancy hotels where you can view the lobby as you ride it. I kept trying to get on but she kept stopping me saying I couldnt go with her on this trip. I WANTED to go SO much. She looked so beautiful....so happy....so peaceful. And I miss her dearly. Her last words were I wish you could see how little it matters----those things that you are anxiously giving your thoughts to....In light of eternity----IT JUST DOESNT MATTER She took my face in her hands.....looked into my eyes and said let it go child....This too shall pass. And with those words the elevator closed and she rose up---up---up....until I couldnt see her radiant smile anymore. I could only see the bright sunshine where she left me standing.
