I have spent many years in the retail business, but still dont understand why gift certificates expire??? They have been paid in full, in advance of receiving product or services, so it doesnt make sense that they arent honored at any time. I am not referring to Groupon, but actual certificates sold by a business. It gives me an impression of that business that they are, getting something (the business gets my money) for nothing (me).
