I have spoken about the strange clock face within Petavius before, - TopicsExpress

I have spoken about the strange clock face within Petavius before, but I wanted to show off images from my new lunar camera. North is to the upper left. The unusual rille system on Petavius floor seems to illustrate a clock showing about 20 minutes to 12. This is yesterdays view about 2 AM local as I tried out the Skyris 132M camera for the first time. The seeing wasnt very good, but I was anxious to prowl the Moon with the new camera after a spell of cloudy weather. I am happy with the results in spite of poor seeing. Besides the radial rilles within Petavius floor, another unique feature sets this crater apart from others...the curved rille arcing around the southern terraced wall. I know of no other craters with a similar feature. The smaller crater at the lower left of Petavius is Wrottsley Image taken through a Celestron 11 Edge HD, 2.5X Powermate, and Skyris 132M.
