I have submitted these two motions for inclusion on the agenda of the final Town Council meeting in May: Motion 1 Wicklow Town Council calls on the Government and the Minister for Housing, Jan OSullivan to immediately tackle the housing crisis and the rise in homelessness by making budgetary provision for building, buying or long-term leasing new housing stock as required by every Council nationally, and by making provision for employment to renovate old and derelict housing stock. Motion 2 Wicklow Town Council calls on the Minister for Environment to immediately cease fluoridation of the public water supply. Recent evidence suggests that the underlying reasons for enforcing what has been deemed a public health benefit for the common good no longer bears true, and that flouridation is extremely dangerous to health. Furthermore, it is an violation of the rights of the public to make informed choices about their own health.
