I have taken film crews into the forest searching for wild boar many times. However, when ITV contacted me asking if I would take a news presenter out to track wild boar I didnt think it would be a problem, until he showed up. The cameraman was a diamond, but I soon found out that the presenter wasnt as his first question was, Im in a bit of a rush, so can we find them quickly? He basically gave me 20 minutes to find them, which is near on impossible unless you get really lucky. So in the end, with my patience wearing very thin I said, there are probably some in there and off he went, up to his neck in bracken :-) They left soon afterwards, but I did get an apology off the cameraman who was doing all the work :-) This just shows what some peoples perceptions are of wild boar in the Forest of Dean as they have been portrayed in the press to be out of control and covering every inch of ground in the area. This is not true as I can walk for miles without seeing or hearing them.
