I have talked a lot lately about the fact that all of us have - TopicsExpress

I have talked a lot lately about the fact that all of us have crosses to bear and stories to tell. I went through that again this week-end with my friend. I had NO clue that Larry thought that much of me. I always call him to go out and do something....he never calls me. Because of that, I know that I havent called as much the past few years with my busy schedule, and I figured that since he didnt call me, he didnt really care that much. Truly my bad. When his sister and brother came up right when I was leaving, they went on and on about how much Larry talked about me. It shocked me...a lot....and it has really made me think. We get caught up so much in LIFE, that sometimes instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my shirts, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” I want to get together but it is not a priority. If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently. The television show is not that important. The football game is not that important. A quote I carry in my billfold: A man who wants to do something will find a way; a man who doesnt will find an excuse. Stephen Dooley, Jr. I, for one, am going to work harder to find the ways.
