I have the castle from Howls Moving Castle as my current desktop wallpaper, and I just realized that for all its size, they only really use a very small portion of it. Theres the ground floor, and then theres the second floor, with the bedrooms. And then theres the hamlet on the very top of the castle, in among the smokestacks, but we dont really see them use that. We also know that Howl can make it bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside, when he creates a new bathroom and revamps Sophies bedroom. So why doesnt Howl just get a phone booth and call it a day, without having to resort to a walking monstrosity that can fall apart regularly?
