I have the utmost respect for anyone who exhibits the strength and character to examine themselves. Today , I give honor to Lavetra Johnson for this powerful TESTIMONY. READ BELOW. Lavetra stated I am 42 with a 21 month old son. The judge awarded me physical custody with minimal time with his father who lives in Virginia. I live in Indiana. When I looked in his eyes and saw the tears fall and the pain he felt, I could punch myself in the face. After court I hugged the my sons father and asked him to please trust me. That I would never keep his blood from him. My son goes to Virginia every month for 7-10 days a month for his much needed man time. Although my father steps in quite a bit, its his father that he needs. I never doubt my ability to raise him. But my love for our son far exceeds my huge ego which is one reason his father and I are not together. Coupled with my smart ass mouth. When they see each other at the airport there is no denying the amount of love this black man shows his son. PERIOD. He pays alot in child suport and will call to ask if we need anything else. The only thing coming between my son and his father will be death. Becase there is no way I can raise him alone. And I will battle any woman who thinks she can do so without a male role model. I challenge all black women to step outside of yourself and your feelings to allow our black men to make a difference in our dying breed. Our sons deserve the absolute best like every other ethnic group.
