I have this feeling that the community expects the wife to take care of the husband as if the husband is her first child - as if he is a big baby. Is it just me, or is that the reality that we live in? I am not against the wife taking care of the husband. That is a beautiful thing and it should be celebrated. But when it gets to a point when the husband sits down and do nothing while the wife tends to his every needs, I cannot stay quiet. I dont believe thats what a wife is for. The way I understand it, marriage is a two-way relationship - a partnership towards Allah. One eases the burden of the other, not becoming a burden for the other.
